New Form Arts Members Galleries Jane Ann BrownJane works with an unusual combination of natural and modern materials, typically involving transparent or translucent elements. She won the BIDA award for Outstanding Design in 2004.
"Influenced by my environment, particularly the surrounding mood and atmosphere, my work is focused in organic forms. This has inspired me to create an individual and unique collection of bespoke designs. These incorporate colour, light, transparency, structure, laying and the entrapment of my inspirations. 
"Specialising in the use of perspex and polymer materials, I have created the award winning 'Vessel', which won the BIDA award for Outstanding Design in 2004. Nature's trapped ephemeral forms inspired me to create a product that has elegant style with function for urban living. The Vessels are made from translucent perspex with incorporated colour tubing which can hold contemporary floral blooms as a modern lifestyle statement. Each Vessel is truly an original piece and the tube can be dyed to individual requirements. "I have also created wall hangings, screens, room dividers and individual art work using polymer materials. These diverse exclusive works trap a combination of large, small, sometimes fragile, ephemeral objects into permanent tranlucent forms. Even though each one is individual and unique the designs sometimes carry a common theme to make up a collection that gives a elegant bespoke element to the urban lifestyle. The Craft Design Experience awarded "Excellence in Design" to the wall hangings at the Mall Gallery in London."
